Founder, Clinical Director
Matt is the founder and clinical director of MSD Therapeutic Services. He has nearly a decade of experience working with clients ages 4 through 99 (if you make it to 100, you no longer need therapy!) across a wide range of settings (psychiatric hospital, community mental health, public school, and private practice). Matt graduated first in his class from SUNY Albany with a BA in Psychology, specializing in stress management, mindfulness, and body dysmorphia. He then graduated top of his class from SUNY Albany with a clinical focused MSW.
Matt enjoys working with adults and couples, with a special interest in anxiety/depressive disorders, grief and loss/bereavement, infertility, life transitions (big or small), relationship/couple's counseling, stress management, and weight management/health. Matt also provides coaching and supervision services.
Matt aims to help his clients understand and resolve unwanted patterns of thinking, behavior, and communication by utilizing a multitude of modalities custom tailored to each client. On top of everything else, Matt likes to add in discussions around healthy boundaries, improving communication, and increasing self-care, as these have a huge impact on our overall well-being. A session with Matt is full of deep insights, metaphors, and, of course, humor! The ultimate goal of therapy is always to feel better, and Matt looks forward to helping you along your journey.
When not working, Matt enjoys spending time with family and friends, whipping up delicious kitchen concoctions, cleaning and organizing (yes, he really does enjoy it!), and gaming. He is a big animal lover, enjoys spending time in nature, and has a very musical household (there is always music, singing, and dancing going on!).
